Meet April

April is a parent of three kids, advocate for our public schools, and a teacher.

April graduated with a B.A. from Harvard College, where she majored in History and earned her teaching credential. April is currently working on her Master’s in Education at San Francisco State University. April has taught high school Social Studies in California and in Massachusetts, as well as 2nd and 3rd grade in Belmont-Redwood Shores.

April is a strong advocate for our public schools. As the Co-Chair for the Yes on Measure K campaign, April led a team of committed volunteers advocating for the passage of Measure K on the June 2018 ballot. Measure K was successful, resulting in $1.4 million more annually in revenue for the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District. April was Fundraising Chair for Yes on Measure C earlier this year, which was approved by voters and maintains local funding for our schools. As Chair of the Parcel Tax Oversight Committee, April has worked with parents, teachers, and community members to review the district’s expenditures and ensure that parcel tax funds are being spent appropriately.

April is a past PTA President of Cipriani Elementary and a former School Chair for SchoolForce. April is the Vice President of Community Events for the Belmont-Redwood Shores PTA Council, Secretary for the Belmont Water Dog Run Board of Directors, and the Rotary Club Representative for Carlmont High School Interact Club.
